Eygló and Austurbrú Representatives Visit Fjarðabygg

Eygló and Austurbrú paid a visit to the Fjarðabyggð council. This insightful visit provided an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the vibrant community of Fjarðabyggð. The purpose of the visit was to introduce the council to Eygló’s activities and future projects, explore potential collaboration opportunities, and discuss matters related to innovation and circular economy in East Iceland. Fjarðabyggð holds a unique position in many respects, with magnificent fjords, majestic mountains, and seaside villages lining the coast where vibrant culture and diverse human life thrive. Rich fishing grounds lie off the shores of the Eastfjords, and fishing and processing of seafood are among the mainstays of economic and value creation, alongside aluminum production and related services.

The town council provided many good and diverse suggestions for interesting projects and possible collaboration projects for Eygló. Looking forward to more collaboration opportunities in the future!
